That Jesus is the Son of God and Savior of Humanity.
That the Bible, particularly the life and teachings of Jesus forms the basis of our Christian thought and action.
That the Church, the body of Christ, is a holy fellowship through which God seeks to work in every age. It includes all who place their faith in God, through Jesus Christ.
We practice the congregational form of government and participate in area, regional, and general manifestations of the denomination.
That the Church is universal, as well as congregational, ecumenical, as well as local.
In the clergy's freedom of the pulpit, and the right of the local congregation to select its own minister.
In the observance of the Lord's Supper, or Holy Communion, every Sunday, and welcome all Christians from all denominations to participate.
In the practice of Baptism by immersion, a New Testament practice recognized as a symbol of complete surrender and of the Biblical ideal of death, burial and resurrection to new life as modeled by Christ.
In the ecumenical fellowship of Christians in worship, study, mission, fellowship and service.
That each individual has access to God without the necessity of priest or Minister to serve as intermediary. Each person can approach God directly, expressing praise and adoration and seeking forgiveness. This conviction is called "the priesthood of all believers."
That each person is sacred in God's eyes, and that each has the personal responsibility to serve and witness wherever there is opportunity.
That the clergy, recognized as that part of the laity set aside for specific duties within the Christian fellowship, is expected to maintain a high standard of education, conduct and worship.
In the unity of all Christians, which today finds expression in the ecumenical movement, was one of the convictions of the founders of the Christian Church, and continues to be one of our major concerns.
That the will of God has never been more clearly, more fully expressed, than in the life and teachings of Jesus, that the call of God is the way of Jesus and is to follow Him and to serve Him by serving others.
That the Church was called into being by Christ to continue his ministry of love and care. That through this church, our lives, our homes, our community, our nation and our world are strengthened in Christ's spirit and truth.
No mandatory attempt is made to make everyone the same in the Christian Church, (Disciples of Christ). The Christian Church is not a place where you will find rubber stamped believers who all think and act alike.
Here you will find the latitude to study, interpret. No creed's or formatted doctrine are force fed to people wanting to unite with the Christian Church and for this reason many different people of many different backgrounds find a home in the Christian Church, (Disciples of Christ) as we all worship Jesus, the Christ together.
People presenting themselves for membership here are asked only one question: "Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and do you accept him as your Savior and Lord, and will you seek to serve Him through this Church?"
If the answer is YES, we invite you to come and join us.
God Bless, Joe Hodges, Senior Minister
