Faith Community Christian Church

The CWF Women will host a shower for Kenny and Colleen March 4 in fellowship hall

CWF at Faith Community Christian Church is active and alive. The first Tuesday of each month all ladies are encouraged to develop their personal journey of faith by participating in this local ministry of the church. Through Disciples Women-Christian Women's Fellowship sponsored events women are invited to share the Good News through:

Worship for spiritual growth and renewed discipleship; Bible study for greater knowledge, understanding, and service; Issue study for action and advocacy; Mission study for knowledge, understanding and acceptance of others; Service/action for hands-on/personal involvement; Fellowship/networking for building the faith community with other women; Leadership training for service to God in the DW-CWF, the church, and the community; Stewardship of time, talent, and resources for the mission of the church.

Some ministries of the church that our local CWF has supported in 2005 are: Mobile Meals, offering to Basic Mission Finance, Week of Compassion, Operation Class Act, Monthly cost of outside lighting, Christian reading material of the homeless, new worship cloths, maintained kitchen items.

August 1 Meeting

Our meeting was held at the church, Aug. 1, so we could prepare a
bereavement dinner for Kathy Baker's family.  We will meet on Thursday, Aug. 10, at the church at 11:00 to drive to our Birthday Lunch
at Pearl's on I-240 at 11:30.  The honorees are, Terry Fields, Diane Anderson, Betty Taber.  Approximately 18 women attended.
Our next meeting will be Sept. 5 in Suzanne Medcalf's home at 10:00am.
Central Area Disciple Women will meet in Stillwater on Aug. 22 at
9:30am.  A missionary from Kenya will speak and there will be no lunch
available at the church.  Several people will attend from our church.
Please call Suzanne (454-3848) if you would like to attend.

Twyla presented a lesson on How to be faithful.  Training and communi-
cation are two important parts of being faithful.  Next meeting she
will continue with our "being faithful" lesson.

Prayers were asked for: Charlie Miller's step-dad; Donna Bales grandson in the service, and Tracey Allen(Merle's cousin) surgery.

We also draw a name each month and pray for a person during that
month each day.  We would welcome any newcomers to join us on the
first Tuesday of each month.

There will be a wedding shower for Greg Mendiaz and Jenny Hadley
on the 18th of Aug at 7:00pm.  We will meet in the Grassroots Sunday
School class, because a dance will be in fellowship hall.

Count your blessings, you may be surprised.  We have such a wonderful
community to live in and raise our family when compared to others
around our nation and the world.  Give thanks for what you have and
ask God to help you be a good steward.

Suzanne Medcalf, President
